Spring break is coming…!

00:00:00event

Yes, it’s almost spring break again, and there are lots of fun, cool things on the program in De Plantage. Below are a few tips.

Jumping and camp at VROG
This holiday, VROG is again offering fun camps for children from the Plantagebuurt. Such as Freerunning & Trampoline – 2 days camp / 7-12 years. A sporty camp full of freerunning & trampoline where you can enjoy the space and the many facilities of VROG. Learn essential freerunning moves, tramporicks & somersaults, develop balance and coordination and make new friends! Boys and girls welcome. Beginners welcome. February 17 and 18 or February 20 and 21. Your trainer will guide you through the activities. There is also mini football and basketball arena. Book online. Also during the spring holidays: special hours for jumping (6+) and mini vrog trampoline for the little ones during the week

Children’s workshop: blueprints (cyanotype), Hortus
Follow in the footsteps of botanical photographer Anna Atkins! The children make postcards based on blueprints and during a tour of the garden they view various (ancient) plants. They then get to work full of inspiration in the Kaslokaal of the Hortus Amsterdam. February 19, tickets & info.

Interactive exhibition for climate heroes in the Wereldmuseum
In the children’s activity exhibition Council of the Raven you will meet the Dutch Raymi and the Greenland Ivalu. They belong to the Raven Council, a club of children who work together for the climate. Raymi and Ivalu introduce you to people from Greenland, Peru, Morocco and Bangladesh, who show how they live with climate change. How do they adapt and how much resilience do you have? There is plenty to do. Test your balance in hunter Lars’ kayak, step on Greenlandic Malik’s dog sled, listen to the sound of the melting ice caps and collect ideas together for a better world. For everyone as of 6 years old! Raad van de Raaf is open on Saturdays and Sundays and every day during school holidays.

Make your own wish tube or bake a ginger bolus at the Jewish Museum junior
Make your own mezuzah, a tube that is attached to the doorframe of a house. During this workshop you will decorate your own tube in which you can put a note with something that you find important. Tuesday February 18 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM, more info and tickets here.
Amsterdam has existed for 750 years and those on their birthday are treating themselves. That’s why we’re baking a ginger bolus today in the kitchen of the Jewish Museum junior. You make your ginger bolus all by yourself. Don’t like ginger? No problem, even without ginger it is finger-licking good. Tuesday February 18 between 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM, more info and tickets here.

This and much more in De Plantage in February. For more tips look here.
