All children from Amsterdam, aged 4 to 11, can use public transportation for free starting this summer.
Applications can be submitted from June 25, 2025.
Free travel is valid from July 12, 2025 to January 3, 2027 on all GVB buses, trams and metros. For this purpose, the GVB Kids Vrij travel product must be loaded onto the child’s personal OV chip card. If your child does not yet have an OV chip card, you will have to purchase one yourself.
After the promotional period, your child will automatically receive a 34 percent discount on travel by public transport until their twelfth birthday.
