This month, one new member and a partner-neighborhood have joined De Plantage. We are happy to welcome them and introduce them to you.
Czaar Peter Kwartier
Within 10 minutes by bike from the Plantage neighbourhood you find the Czaar Peter Kwartier. A wonderful place to stroll around and to shop at various boutiques and fine specialty stores of entrepreneurs with a passion and love for their product and/or services.
For example, try the bread from the city bakery As, a cheese at Kef or a delicious wine at Enoteca Sprezzatura. There is also a versatile range of clothing stores, gift shops and places to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or a tasty lunch. There is also plenty to do here at the end of the afternoon and in the evening.

SOOP
Meeting place SOOP (for and by the elderly in the Plantage – Weesperbuurt) is located at Nieuwe Kerkstraat 124 hs. You can walk in for a cup of coffee, a chat or just to read the newspaper at the reading table, every day of the week. They offer a wide range of courses and all kinds of activities take place here. For example, the movie afternoons and the monthly neighbourhood drink are extremely popular!
SOOP is run entirely by volunteers who are open to new ideas and activities. That is why they recently completely renovated the Gelahg room and now are painting their other rooms. Visitors are therefore invited to share their knowledge and talents here, so if you have a good idea, please contact Sylvia Schonenberg and her team, or just drop by if you’re around.
