The Culture Ferry starts this week!

Published on Monday, April 15News

With the launch of the website last week and a festive kick-off next Friday, the Culture Ferry will be sailing!

The Culture Ferry is a new way to explore Amsterdam, a hop-on hop-off experience over the water and past various cultural highlights of the city. The canal, a collaboration between cultural institutions including the Rembrandthuis Museum, NEMO Science Museum, ARTIS and other partners, starts from Amsterdam Central Station. An authentic ship from Rederij Mokumboot takes visitors to both well-known and lesser-known cultural attractions, mainly located in the Plantagebuurt and the Oosterdok. During the cruise, visitors are treated to stories and background information about the neighborhood and its cultural offerings. You can get off and on at various places along the route, and there is always a museum, theater or attraction within walking distance of the jetty.

Festive launch

The Culture Ferry will launch for the first time on Saturday, April 20. To celebrate this, the organization is giving away free tickets. Culture enthusiasts can register online or pick up a voucher on the day itself at the Grachtenmuseum, H’ART Museum, ARTIS and the National Maritime Museum.

The website

The website has been live since last week. Here you’ll find everything you need to start your trip or refer your guests or clients: details about the route and cultural hotspots, departure times, ticket prices and more. In the frequently asked questions section you can find answers to all possible questions. The website will soon be expanded with a ticket button and information about the Culture Ferry app.
