The closure of the Weesperstraat with the ‘Knip’ is reason for the construction of a temporary Pocket Park between the Nieuwe Kerkstraat and the Nieuwe Prinsengracht.
From 15 June to 22 July, BIZ Knowledge Mile is organizing a public program there together with local residents and companies.
The trial with the Knip creates a unique piece of public space of over 200 m2 in the usually busy Weesperstraat. The aim of the Pocket Park is to increase the quality of life and to promote the Knowledge Mile as a green and sustainable city street. Residents, companies and other interested parties are given the opportunity to receive the key to the Pocket Park for one day or part of the day and to organize an activity for friends, family, colleagues or the neighbourhood.
Think of a neighborhood lunch, yoga in the park, a pop-up exhibition or a workshop on bee-friendly planting. BIZ Knowledge Mile offers support and budget to those who want to organize an activity to turn their ideas into reality.
