Resistance Museum Amsterdam donates income from museum visits on Boxing Day to foundation United We Stand.

Update; Resistance Museum Amsterdam and Airborne Museum Oosterbeek raise €3,500 for aid to Ukraine with a Christmas campaign. The museums both donate visitor proceeds from Boxing Day to the United we Stand Foundation. This foundation supplies relief supplies such as clothing and medicine to victims of the war in Ukraine. Together, the two museums raised more than €3,500 for those affected by this campaign.

This foundation provides humanitarian aid to the victims of the war in Ukraine. The museum hereby joins an initiative of the Airborne Museum in Oosterbeek.

“We see that the values we stand for in the Resistance Museum are under pressure worldwide, unfortunately also close to home, in Europe,” says director Liesbeth van der Horst. “Just like in the Netherlands during the Second World War, innocent civilians in Ukraine suffer from a violent foreign occupier and war violence. This is in danger of fading into the background due to the duration of the war and conflicts elsewhere in the world. Through this action we hope to contribute to renewed attention and offer some help together with our visitors.”

Free Catalog
The museum invites everyone to contribute on Boxing Day by visiting the museum and thus increasing support for the United We Stand Foundation. Museum Card and City Pass holders also contribute. To motivate as many people as possible to come to the Resistance Museum on December 26, every tenth visitor will receive a free museum catalog worth €19.50 that day.

The Resistance Museum is open on Boxing Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be ordered online or purchased upon arrival at the museum.
