Hidden between the KIT and the Oosterpark is the Tropentuin. There has been a neighborhood vegetable garden here since 2018, with a picking garden full of native herbs, greenhouse, worm hotel, compost bins and twenty vegetable garden bins. Local residents, employees and tenants in KIT can rent a vegetable garden box to sow and harvest vegetables, fruit and herbs for a season. You can also donate fruit and vegetable waste to the worm hotel here, or participate in various workshops and events.
