You are young, you want to discover Amsterdam and De Plantage, and you don’t it want it to be expensive.
That is possible, because in June a very beautiful, new The Bee Hostel will open on Plantage Kerklaan 19. At the moment, the refurbishing is still work in progress; so no pictures of the result yet, but some impressions of the atmosphere.
This The Bee hostel has a little more luxury than regular hostels. The monumental building has been beautifully renovated, decorated in a boutique style, and the result is impressive. It has 90 sleeping places with beds designed by a furniture maker, spread over five floors. Maximum comfort for the guests has of course been thought of; each bed has a privacy screen, mattress toppers and fine linen. There is underfloor heating throughout the building and comfort in the bathrooms has been thought of. When checking in, guests are provided with a bracelet to identify the floor, bed and locker. The ground floor has 20 sleeping places, intended only for women. On this ‘ladies only floor’ there is some extra space for clothes and a slightly larger bathroom.
Among the features is a nice bar-kiosk for drinks and goodies at the reception such as fresh toasted sandwiches, smoothies and nachos. There is also the possibility to take beautiful photos with the ‘designed instagrammable wall’.
Hostel manager Marrit de Graaf and her team ensure that guests feel at home and that they lack nothing.
