Inner Harbor Marineterrein first official swimming location in Amsterdam Center

The Binnenhaven has been a popular swimming spot among Amsterdam residents for years. Until now, this location was known as a ‘wild swimming spot’. The quality of the bathing water has been measured regularly in recent years and is and remains good. The bottom has been thoroughly checked and the holes and crevices between the quay walls and the bottom have been filled. As a result, the Inner Harbor is now an official swimming spot.
The province of North Holland has designated the Binnenhaven as the first official swimming location in the Center district. The swimming spot will receive its new status in April at the start of the swimming season.

Swimming all year round
Swimming is allowed all year round at this unique urban swimming spot. Take the environment and other users of the site into account. So leave it clean and keep it quiet. There will be no supervision. Swimming therefore remains at your own risk. The Marineterrein website and digital information screens on the site contain current information about water quality and water temperature.
