Hiking booklet ‘Ode aan Oost’

When you walk, borders don’t exist. From the Plantagebuurt you can of course also walk into (the rest of) Amsterdam East, and vice versa. If you are going out in the neighborhood this spring, then you will certainly benefit from the hiking guide ‘Ode aan Oost’ by Lucy Deutekom.

Out of love for the neighborhoods of Amsterdam-East, Lucy wrote a walking guide with nine routes through the neighborhoods of East. You walk along the most ordinary and the most special places; along the Diem and through the polder to the heart of Amsterdam.

One route takes you through the Plantagebuurt, past the Muiderpoort, ARTIS, the Burcht, the Auschwitz monument and the Entrepotdok, and over the UvA Campus with its modern buildings and beautiful paths and bridges. How nice is it to rest on the waterfront on the Roeterseiland, with this route booklet full of photos and stories?

Ode aan Oost, only in Dutch, length 3.5 klm, 50 min. Starting point Metro station Weesperplein / end point tram stop Waterlooplein.

The guide can be ordered from the author by email to odeaanoost@gmail.com for € 16.50. More info: https://lucydeutekom.wordpress.com/
