On 5, 6 and 7 July, ARTIS is organizing the first edition of the ARTIS Planetary Health Congress.

Planetary Health stands for the inseparable connection of all life on earth and how our health depends on it.

During this scientific conference, experts, researchers and policy makers come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the field of Planetary Health. Mayor of Amsterdam Femke Halsema and ARTIS director Rembrandt Sutorius open the conference.

The Planetary Health Congress explores how four interrelated pillars, Earth, Water, Food and Human Civilization, are related to the health of all Earthlings.

A logical step for ARTIS Rembrandt Sutorius, director of ARTIS: “The vision of ARTIS is a liveable world for future generations. We believe that the challenges of our time require an interdisciplinary approach. Only by working together across disciplines can we make a positive impact for a healthy planet. For us, but also for all earthlings and all generations after us. The organization of this Planetary Health Congress is therefore a logical step for ARTIS.”

Representatives from different fields
Colleagues from different sectors and disciplines come together to meet, exchange knowledge and ideas and develop solutions for the challenges facing our planet. ARTIS, together with ARTIS professor and microbiologist Remco Kort, is organizing the conference in collaboration with VU University Amsterdam, Health Holland, Top Sector Agri & Food and Top Sector Horticulture and Propagation Materials.
