What do you know about garden birds? How do you count them? And how do you make your garden bird-friendly? Participate in the Garden Bird Counting webinar and be well prepared during the National Garden Bird Count on January 28, 29 and 30.
IVN Nature Education, in collaboration with the municipality of Leiden, is organizing the webinar ‘National Garden Bird Count’ on 27 January.
Program webinar
- National Garden Bird Count: why and how does it work?
- Counting birds with children
- Bird-friendly design of garden, balcony and street
- Speaker Camilla Dreef (biologist, researcher, TV presenter and ambassador of the Bird Protection) explains how the counting works and gives tips on how to design your own garden, balcony or street in a bird-friendly manner.
The National Garden Bird Count is the largest citizen science project in the Netherlands. Vogelbescherming organizes the count together with Sovon Vogelonderzoek Nederland. The National Garden Bird Count provides a snapshot of the numbers of birds present in Dutch gardens. In combination with the results of other years and with other counts, this provides a picture of developments in the importance of gardens for birds. Read more on the Bird Protection website.
