From 26 August, Hotel Arena presents a solo exhibition by the Dutch photographer/artist Jasper Abels (Tubbergen, 1987). Jasper combines the love for photography with a fascination for nature, colour and mythical stories. With his eye for detail, he processes themes in a beauty that can hardly be defined.

Jasper explores in his work both heaven and earth, combining the embodiment and beauty of the tangible world with feelings that are pure, untouched and often hidden. He plays with something people long for, but can’t fully grasp. By using combined techniques, he creates unique and recognisable images, which are colourful, minimalistic and elegant.

Jasper is a photographer and visual artist who started doing photography at an early age. After graduating from the Royal Academy of The Hague, he started working for a wide range of international customers and fashion magazines. During his childhood a fascination for nature, the shaping of images and the love for animals, mythical fairytales and creatures arose.
