Learning a language and cooking at the same time; a golden combination. Come into our ‘Language Kitchen’ and dive into Turkish (food) culture with Esra, our teacher and ‘cook for one day’!
You will learn to prepare two typical Turkish dishes: imam bayıldı (literally: ‘fainted imam’) and kısır (bulgur salad). These dishes are part of the Turkish custom of family dinners, where many people gather to spend time together and eat tasty, traditional dishes.
During this 2.5-hour workshop you will roll up your sleeves and prepare this Turkish meal yourself. While cooking you will work on your culinary vocabulary in Turkish and you will also hear interesting stories about Turkish food habits and traditions.
When the preparations are ready, we set the table and start with a drink and a few starters. Then it’s time to eat this typical ‘comfort food’ and chat about Turkish culture, cuisine and language.
This menu is completely vegan.
You will have to leave De Plantage for it….☺️
