What thought or question starts with the feeling that something is wrong? What is the moment when you turn this thought into action?
In this performance, young people from the Theater of Remembrance project look for what resistance is, how small it can remain or how big it can grow. And what if you just watch?
They will discuss with relatives about Amsterdam women in the resistance during the Second World War. Which links were needed to bring one child to safety with combined efforts? It looks at the position of women at the time, what their limitations were and also how women could take advantage of the fact that they were often underestimated.
What courage and fear lies within ourselves to feel that something is wrong and to say or do something if necessary?
Theater of Remembrance
Theater Na de Dam is entering into a special collaboration with 10 European partners under the name Theater of Remembrance. A total of ten youth performances are made by more than a hundred European young people under the guidance of professional theater makers. Conversations with more than fifty eyewitnesses of the Second World War and/or relatives formed the basis of these performances. One of these performances is Like Under Water in the National Holocaust Museum.
The performance can also be seen on January 26 at 7:30 PM and on January 27 at 7:30 PM.
