The Resistance Tram is running again!

00:00:00event

The Resistance Tram will run again on five Sundays in 2024.

Starting from the Resistance Museum, this historic tram follows an hour-long route through Amsterdam, visiting a large number of places linked to the history of the occupation in WOII, the persecution of the Jews and the resistance.

An impressive tour, this unique tour past places linked to the occupation, persecution and resistance.

The city’s history is shocking because of the immeasurable suffering inflicted on a large part of the Amsterdam population, but also hopeful because there are always people who rise up to resist injustice and oppression.

A museum teacher from the Resistance Museum explains this history on the tram and talks about, among other things, the Hollandsche Schouwburg, Henriëtte Pimentel’s crèche, the Muiderpoort station, the fusillade in the Eerste Weteringplantsoen, the raid on the Waterlooplein and the February strike.
