The open-air cinema of H’ART museum is back

00:00:00event

The open-air cinema of H’ART Museum opened again yesterday, now with Art Movie Monday on Monday

This summer, Amsterdam’s largest and most romantic open-air cinema returns to the historic courtyard of H’ART Museum for the seventh year in a row. This year, the compilers of the film program once again present a fantastic selection of film classics.

New is Art Movie Monday, the art theme on Mondays where iconic Art Movies and mini art lectures fill the program. Every film on Monday focuses on art. A special supporting program will take place before these art films. No quiz, as usual, but a short, live interview with an art expert with room for questions from the audience. The introduction is provided by art critics and experts such as Cathelijne Blok (NRC), Sara van Binsbergen (Volkskrant) and Toef Jaeger (NRC).
Audiences can look forward to art films such as Visages / Villages (Aug 12), Exit Through the Gift Shop (Aug 19) and The Square (Aug 26). Complete this ultimate movie date night with a visit to the blockbuster exhibition of H’ART Museum, Kandinsky.

Furthermore, Movies at H’ART Museum will once again be offering a rich and versatile program this year. From the three-time Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club (2013) starring Matthew McConaughey to the brand new sci-fi comedy Poor Things (2023) and from the American neo noir Memento (2000) by director Christopher Nolan to the Studio A24 horror/mystery Midsommar (2019).

For more information about all film evenings and tickets (€15.50) see hartmuseum.nl. The weather forecast promises cinematic summer evenings, but in case of rain ponchos are available.
