May is one ot the best months to discover the Hortus. With an explosion of greenery in the garden and the medicinal garden in full, fragrant bloom. Time for a walk, tour or workshop in this urban oasis.
For children there is of course something to do every day during the May holidays. For example, there is a children’s treasure hunt about edible plants ‘plant on your plate’; rice, olives, apples, nettles and cacti… we can eat them all, but where do they come from and why do they taste so good, or so bad?
Later this month there will be a wild-picking course for adults, the Hortus Talks will focus on edible nature and there will again be themed tours of the garden. The Hortus Talks are always recorded by the way, and you can listen back to the first two now! They last about half an hour, so great for a walk or coffee break. Check them out on the website or in your podcast app.
