The beautiful ship De Clipper Stad Amsterdam will be moored at The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam until the end of March 2021 and can be visited. After successful completion of the large-scale maintenance at Damen Shipyards in Den Helder, the crew is looking forward to receiving guests on board the beautifully renovated ship! From September 13, the ship will be open to museum visitors every Wednesday and every other week on Sundays. In collaboration with the museum, a varied program is being developed for visitors and companies. The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is also available for various small-scale events such as a meeting, a maritime lunch or a reception. COVID-19 measures are in force at all events on board.
Evert van Dishoeck, director of Clipper Stad Amsterdam: “After a long refit period in Den Helder, we are fortunate to have such a beautiful berth in Amsterdam, our home port. During the period the crew worked hard on the yard and took care of the complete maintenance of the rigging. Now it is time to enjoy the result together with fans and visitors of The Maritime Museum! Within the current measures, with some adjustments on board, guests can happily be received on board again. In collaboration with The Maritime Museum, we put together a great program so that as many people as possible can visit us and get to know the Clipper. ”
In the seven months that the Clipper Stad Amsterdam has its berth at The Maritime Museum, maritime exhibitions and workshops are organized and there are guided tours during school holidays, Heritage Days and Museum Night Amsterdam. The Clipper is open to museum visitors every Wednesday and every other week on Sundays.
