A solo exhibition by artist Maaike Schoorel (1973) can be seen in the Amsterdam Museum, at the special historic location Huis Willet-Holthuysen.
Schoorel has made ten new paintings and a space-filling installation in which she takes visitors along in her associative research with photos, collages and special finds from the collection. She focuses in particular on Louisa Willet-Holthuysen, the collector who, in 1895, gave the building with its completely newly furnished interiors full of decorations in French Neo-Louis XVI style to the municipality, with the order to turn it into a museum.
