On Liberation Day (5 May) we invite everyone to visit Huis Willet-Holthuysen to pick up a can of freedom soup. With this action we commemorate the resistance in the historic canal house and celebrate a free Netherlands!

Every year a different chef is asked to develop the recipe for the freedom soup. This year it is Chef Nick Toet. For the recipe he was inspired by his grandmother’s tomato soup, supplemented with Korean chili flakes, miso and spring onion.

The soup can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the reception desk of Huis Willet-Holthuysen, Herengracht 605 in Amsterdam.
