Open House on the Amstel

Come and visit the exhibitions of three(!) museums at the Amstel 51 for free on Saturday 11 June. Museum van de Geest l Outsider Art, Dutch Heritage Amsterdam (Hermitage Amsterdam) and the Amsterdam Museum are jointly organizing an open house. View all exhibitions and enjoy the packed programming that is also freely accessible: tours, workshops, lectures or meet curators and artists.

Three museums under one roof
On this day you can see the exhibitions of all three museums, which are located at the Amstel 51, for free. Go to the focus exhibition Dutch Heritage Amsterdam with in the spotlight Het Gele Huis (The Street) by Vincent van Gogh, to the exhibition Along Came Your Eyes with new works by Neo Matloga (winner ABN AMRO Art Prize), take a look at Museum van Geest and rediscover the city of Amsterdam in the Panorama Amsterdam collection presentation and three temporary exhibitions in the Amsterdam Museum wing.

Throughout the day there is a wide range of public programs through all our current exhibitions. Meet artists and makers such as Raquel van Haver and Bilal Chahal or take guided tours of the Amsterdam Museum or Museum van de Geest. Translate your thoughts and feelings into embroidery in an ongoing workshop program developed with designer Tess van Zalinge. The Time Travel Guide for kids and families is available all day, as is the VR experience by Abner Preis Studios. The American writer and historian Russell Shorto will give a lecture and we will open our festive drink with special words from the management and alderman.
