New harvest from the Outsider workshops

A selection of the most beautiful works on paper and freshly fired raku ceramics can be seen in the Outsider Art Gallery as of September 13th. And did you know that you can also borrow works of art in the gallery!

Every Wednesday morning, the artists of Outsider Art give a drawing and painting workshop under the inspiring leadership of a volunteer and supervisor. With exercises and assignments, the boundaries of art are explored and stretched. Splashes, smudges, ink, paint, pencil, pastel, black and white or color. The best and most exciting works can now be seen in the gallery. A Valhalla for art lovers!

The ceramics studio of Bijzonder Amsterdams goes on a raku firing week every year. This is quite an experience, fiery red and boiling hot, the workpieces are removed from open fires or primitive ovens and then cooled in the air, after which they are placed in a container with sawdust. Due to the sudden drop in temperature, the glaze cracks and the burnt sawdust gives the typical black-rimmed cracks. Dutch cows and sheep, wonderful creatures and much more raku fun can be seen in this exhibition!

Did you know that you can also borrow works of art from € 50 per year at the Outsider Art Artotheek? You save part of this amount. You can exchange or buy works at any time, there is no maximum loan period. And you don’t pay a registration fee. Choose something beautiful for yourself or give one as a gift! Selecting art is currently only possible by appointment. No time to find out for yourself? The gallery can also make a proposal with a quote, ask Josien Vogelaar and her team about the possibilities.
