Micropia; children free and open on museum night

Until Sunday 7 November, Micropia will focus on sustainable microbes. The artwork demonstrating the effect of the cable bacteria can be admired there. But you will also meet the microbes that ferment the dung of the ARTIS elephants into a super compost for the ARTIS Park.

In a playful way, visitors discover how baker’s yeast is used for all kinds of sustainable solutions. The lab technicians will also show you how we clean our drinking water by adding microbes. This weekend is your last chance to stop by and follow the associated museum route.

Children can go to Micropia for free during the day. Please reserve a start time.

Museum night
Micropia will also participate in Museum Night Amsterdam on Saturday evening 6 November. From 7 p.m. you can discover what microbes do for a cleaner planet. Watch the luminous cable bacteria or take a picture with the tardigrade. Don’t forget to try the kiss-o-meter, too, and find out which microbes you exchange during a French kiss.

Micropia, Artisplein.
