Until 8 May, the National Maritime Museum will be hosting another beautiful May holiday program! Celebrate spring here with a pleasant museum visit and discover a wide range of extra activities. Families and children of all ages have come to the right place for a wonderful day out. In the museum, outside on the jetty or on board the ships – there is a lot to experience this holiday at the Maritime Museum. Build block boats on the Open Square; listen to a toddler story about a little sailor with nostalgia for the country on the VOC ship; or explore the museum with the free viewing tour or junior audio tour.
And on top of that… two more noteworthy news:
- The VR time travel on the VOC ship is back! A true video spectacle in which you are taken into Amsterdam in the seventeenth century.
- The exhibition ‘The story of the whale’ has been updated. The new last room has been updated to the theme of sustainability: visitors – young and old – learn all about plastic soup: one of the biggest threats to the whale.
Finally, the youngest visitors can discover the museum in an extra interactive way by coming to do a museum inspection! As a museum fan aged up to and including 12, you will report on your experience during your visit. This way you help us to be named a ‘kidsproof’ museum by Museumkids again next year.
View the entire holiday programme, dates and times here. Please note: during the holidays the museum is open every day, except on King’s Day.
