KinderBeestFeest 2023

event

The KinderBeestFeest will be organized for the 22nd time on Friday 2 June. The annual private party in ARTIS is especially for chronically ill children, children with specific care needs and/or children with a disability in North Holland, Flevoland and Leiden.

Together with police motorcycles, more than 300 vehicles from the ambulance, fire brigade, defence, government, private services, police and Red Cross take the children to ARTIS for an unforgettable evening. Boats of the Rescue Brigade are also deployed. Anyone who sees the columns of emergency vehicles driving through Amsterdam on this Friday evening need not be frightened or call an emergency number, because the motto of the KinderBeestFeest is: “Nothing is wrong, but move aside!”.

1500 guests About
1500 guests were invited by 26 hospitals and institutions from North Holland, Flevoland and Leiden. The children may bring their parents/guardians, brothers and sisters. More than 600 volunteers are working to give the children and their families a fantastic evening.

Traffic
A number of streets around ARTIS will be closed to all traffic, including cyclists, on Friday evening 2 June between 4 and 11 p.m. (Cyclists can continue with their bicycles in hand.) This is for the safe entry and exit of the children and their families. The closures concern Plantage Middenlaan, Plantage Kerklaan, Plantage Doklaan and Henri Polaklaan. There is a parking ban between 12:00 and 23:00 on Plantage Middenlaan and Plantage Kerklaan. This parking ban applies to all parking spaces on both sides of these roads. Tram line 14 will be diverted between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
