Green Sunday in the National Maritime Museum

00:00:00event

A Green Start to the Holiday Month on December 1!

December is the month of family, celebration and fun, which often brings new purchases and gift stress. That’s why we’re organizing a green market on Sunday, December 1, and giving beautiful second-hand items a new purpose. This year, Green Sunday will be extra special with the Thuishaven Breakfast. Start the morning together with local residents and enjoy a sustainable breakfast, admission is free for all visitors.

Sustainable gifts
We have collected beautiful items from colleagues and partners, such as toys, books and other fun things from the museum, which we offer to visitors. Visit our stalls with second-hand gifts, which you can wrap on site with the help of the Curinesa Foundation. Do you have any toys that you can spare? Donate it at our collection point in the museum and help neighbors who can use it.
Children’s and women’s clothing exchange
In collaboration with Studio de Kat on the Marineterrein, we organize a clothing exchange for women’s and children’s clothing. Visitors can return clothing and pick out new items.

Sustainable food
We also collect non-perishable food for the Reverse Supermarket. People with a small income can buy groceries from this foundation. If you have any non-perishable products at home (think of food but also household products and/or toilet/baby items), hand them in at the Reverse Supermarket stall on December 1.
Our own Dutch Cuisine provides sustainable snacks to draw attention to food waste.

Come and join us!
Do you have non-perishable food, nice clothes, toys or toiletries? Then come to Het Scheepvaartmuseum and contribute to a greener festive month.
