Food Nights x Food for Thought in the National Maritime Museum

00:00:00event

Evening opening and food program with Slow Food Youth Network.

Food Nights: the National Maritime Museum already organized two in January and February, and the last is planned for March. The museum opens its doors with substantive programs about the origin of our food. The reason for the Food Nights is the Food for Thought exhibition, in which photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen offers an insight into the global food industry. The last one is on March 29 with the youth movement Slow Food Youth Network. Tickets (10 euros) are now available via the museum’s website.

At the Food Night on March 29, Slow Food Youth Network (SFYN) takes visitors on a journey to the origins of various types of food. Where do different ingredients come from? How many kilometers does it have to travel before it reaches our plate? Professionals from the food chain are considering these questions. As a youth movement, SFYN is committed to the transition to a fairer and more sustainable food system.

Tickets and info
The Food Night takes place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the National Maritime Museum. Tickets cost 10 euros (or are free with a Museum Card, City Pass, Vriendenloterij Pass or Rembrandt Pass) and can be purchased via the website, which also contains more information about the programs. Although there is something to taste at every Food Night based on the substantive program, it is advisable to have eaten beforehand.

About Food for Thought
Food for Thought is a bird’s-eye view of the world of our food through the lens of photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen. In this exhibition, Van Lohuizen uses photo and video to explore the origins of our food, and the role of the Netherlands and shipping in the food system. The exhibition can be seen until June 9 this year.
