A new exhibition with work by Mike Megens can be seen in the foyer; the whole month of January

Mike Megens (1993) revises the idea of ​​the sketch within art by exploring drawing in a playful way. He reflects on the underlying qualities and motifs that are intrinsically present in drawing and questions his individual and aesthetic conditions. He searches for an underlying dialogue between different ‘gestures’, fragments, markings and notes.

Within this dialogue, drawing is approached as a way of thinking about image and further exploring its relationship to image. Facets including rhythm, tranquility and structure apply both to the visual domain and to the artist’s living environment. For Megens, this connection between the personal and the plastic represents an entry into the alchemical realm.
