On Wednesday 12 May 2021 it will be Nursing Day. A great starting point for the exhibition “Care!” In the Luther Museum Amsterdam.
Now that the coronavirus has disrupted all aspects of society, the important role that healthcare plays in our society has become extra clear. This is a reason for the Luther Museum, located in a building that originally had a care function, to investigate and highlight the history of care in addition to the current circumstances.
Tradition of care
The Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Amsterdam has always attached great importance to caring for the elderly, disadvantaged, orphans and others who need care. This long tradition of care is the theme of the exhibition. It is a small presentation that highlights the hard work of healthcare providers in the past, present and uncertain future. The role of the deaconesses will receive special attention. We show that healthcare is not only of today, but of all times. This message is particularly topical, especially in corona time. ‘Care!’ will be on display in the hallway of the museum and can be visited with a regular ticket.
