CREA cultural center is organizing a series of conversations about art and science together with the Amsterdam UMC. We have invited the photographer and artist Elspeth Diederix to the first edition of “Art & Knowledge”.

The first edition in the Art & Knowledge series focuses on flowers and plants. An interactive meeting and conversation with artist Elspeth Diederix and hospital pharmacist Reinier van Hest. They worked together on a special art project for the nursing departments of Amsterdam UMC in which medicinal plants play the leading role.

Elspeth will talk about her special photo project FLOWERFIELDS, which can be seen in various places in the UMC. Maria Barnas will read a poem about plants and Thomas van Gulik (professor emeritus) will give a short introduction to the history of medicinal plants in the Hortus Botanicus of Amsterdam.
