You are cordially invited as a neighbour!

Burendag will be the start of a year full of programs for and by the neighbourhood. Last year, National Maritime Museum won the VriendenLoterij Museum Prize with the theme ‘best neighbour’. The museum will use the prize money to organize the Thuishaven program in the coming year. Every month, the museum organizes a breakfast for residents together with a neighborhood partner. The ambition is to connect the museum and the neighborhood more closely and thus become a home base for everyone.

On September 23 it is Neighbors Day and we like to celebrate. We think it’s important to get to know each other better, so we invite you to Het Scheepvaartmuseum, we treat our neighbors to a free breakfast. In addition, there are all kinds of activities to do.

Program

• 10am – 11am: Breakfast at the Open Square
• 11.00 – 11.15 am: Word of welcome by director Michael Huijser
• 11.15 – 12.00: Guided tours of the museum’s treasures
• 10.00 – 12.00: Drawing workshop ‘The dream street of the islands’ Draw your own (dream) house and add it to the most beautiful street in the neighbourhood!
