There is plenty to discover & do in the Maritime Museum during the autumn holidays for families with children from 3 and 6 years old. You will learn more about father & son Willem van de Velde, two well-known marine painters from the 17th century. Follow in their footsteps like a true artist with the daily drawing workshop Sea of Paper.
Discover the exhibitions yourself; look, listen and participate in the new kindergarten reading program and join an enthusiastic guide in the family program Looking with a Pencil.
You & Willem
For the youngest (3+) there is a new reading program based on the beautiful picture book & animation film Zeezucht. In the autumn break there will also be a Van de Velde drawing competition for all ages ‘You & Willem’; you can win a nice prize. You can also take a picture between the wild waves in the Willem van de Velde photo booth, there is a Van de Velde family workshop where you can make your own painting with magnets, and a children’s low tea (a cheerful variant of the high tea for adults).
