This week Edition 12 of the Amsterdam Light Festival starts, entitled LOADING… Revealing Art, AI and Tech! …. but not in De Plantage.

Amsterdam transforms into a futuristic spectacle, where art, artificial intelligence and technology come together. That will happen this year in a different part of the city than De Plantage neighborhood; the route is no longer through the Oudeschans and De Plantage Weesperbuurt, which fulfills the wish of Plantage residents to also hold the festival in another part of the city.

Fortunately, you don’t have to go far from our neighborhood to be enchanted by the light artworks that explore the boundaries of creativity. The route still takes you past the Oosterdok and through the center; so take a walk and the festival will shine brightly for you.

Lights on; Sun to Tue from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and from Wed to Sat from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. During the Christmas holidays (December 23, 2023 to January 7, 2024), the lights will be on every day from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Please note: the lights will be off on Sunday December 31!
