24H Amsterdam is an opportunity to enjoy the very best of all that Amsterdam is and has to offer. Free Tasting Tour at the Hortus Botanicus (register) Learn everything about edible nature on this fun, educational and tasty Tasting Tour in the Hortus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Local producers let you sample their products, from perfectly roasted coffee to a duckweed burger by the pond. This tour is created in collaboration with the Slow Food Youth Network.
Dive into the world of diamonds (register) Take a tour around the historic diamond polishing factory of Gassan Diamonds and discover the historical highlights while enjoying traditional Dutch snacks and drinks and take a look at the Gassan Boutique.
Jewish Cultural Quarter history tour (register) Take a tour of the Jewish Cultural Quarter. Choose between a walk along the Namur Monument (11:00-13:00), take a look at the photo exhibition (12:00-14:00) or discover why Heinz Keijser assembled the largest collection of rattles in the world (14:00 -4:00 pm). The tours last about an hour and departs twice an hour.
Collecting the City In the near future, Amstel 51 will be the place where the Amsterdam Museum will collect and present objects from the city. The first three mini-exhibits explore Amsterdam’s colonial past, the Jacob Geelbuurt and the Asian influence on Dutch food culture.
Making the band: Popup Choir Singing Waterloo on the Waterlooplein on the day of the Eurovision Song Contest? It doesn’t get more fitting than this. At Popup Choir you learn to sing that song polyphonic. In this way, as an audience, you are also immediately a performer. No experience necessary. Success guaranteed!
Waterlooplein goes all out: with performances, catwalk and night market (Festival HQ) Waterlooplein is open again after an ambitious renovation. The opening celebration will include music, speeches and performances, a catwalk with market vendors who will be showing what they have in store and a lively night market until the late evening.
