Do you enjoy meeting people and discovering special places? Welcome visitors to the Mozes en Aäron Church, a historic place filled with art, culture and compassion in the heart of Amsterdam.
Every Thursday and Friday afternoon, the Mozes en Aäron Church at Waterlooplein opens its doors to local residents, tourists and passersby.
As a volunteer, you give visitors a warm welcome. You can have a friendly conversation and share something about the church’s art, architecture, history or activities. Your presence helps create an open atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. During the summer, the church also hosts concerts and cultural events.
The church is home to Sant’Egidio Amsterdam, a community of volunteers committed to friendship with people experiencing homelessness, older people, migrants and others seeking companionship and support.
You will meet people from Amsterdam and around the world, become part of a warm and committed team and discover one of the city’s most beautiful churches from within. Enthusiasm, curiosity and a welcoming attitude are what matter most. We will provide all the information you need. Together, we can discuss when you would like to join us.
This is also a friendly and natural way to practise your Dutch, meet local people and feel more connected to Amsterdam. Perfect Dutch is not required.
