Singing connects!

In the final phase of dementia it is sometimes difficult to make contact. For the environment, but also for those with dementia. Singing can help people get out of their isolation for a while. The Genetic Choir is looking for volunteers with a passion for singing for a special participation project in healthcare ‘Voice & Listen’, in which singers improvise with people with dementia in the Flevohuis and the Sarphatihuis.

The Genetic Choir is both a professional ensemble and a community for voice training, improvisation and development. If you participate in the Voice & Listen project, you will be trained by singers from the Genetic Choir to prepare you for improvisational singing with the elderly. No professional singing experience is required for these training courses; enthusiasm to learn a new, playful form of singing and a bit of courage!

Voice & Listen is looking for reinforcement
For the spring of 2025, the Genetic Choir is looking for enthusiastic singing enthusiasts to strengthen the existing group of singers. To see if singing is something for you, first attend an introductory workshop on December 7, January 18 or February 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You then follow a volunteer training course of 3 half days.

Would you like to use your voice in a playful way and make contact with your voice? Read more on the Genetic Choir website or send an email to volunteers@genetic-choir.org.
