The large signs on Mr Visserplein, Muiderstraat, Alexanderplein and Nieuwe Amstelstraat have been provided with new content. In recent years, text and images about people and places in the neighbourhood have been worked on.
Since 2020, the Plantagebuurt has been presented in this open-air exhibition using themes: Old neighbourhood, New neighbourhood, Jewish neighbourhood and Green neighbourhood. The new content is an elaboration of the theme ‘Jewish neighbourhood’, to show the traditionally Jewish identity of the Plantagebuurt.
Streets, parks, bridges and facades bear the names of people such as Henriëtte Pimentel, Abraham Wertheim, Henri Polak and Sophie Rosenthal-May. The new signs feature a short biography and a photo of these people, and of the place where their name can now be found in the neighbourhood. A great reason to walk through our beautiful neighbourhood.

The Henriëtte Pimentel Bridge (also known as the Muiderpoort Bridge) is a fixed bridge on the border between Amsterdam-Centrum and Amsterdam-Oost. Since May 2022, this bridge has been named after Henriëtte Pimentel, a Jewish teacher, nurse and resistance fighter who helped Jewish children in the Netherlands find a hiding place during World War II.
