Looking for a creative outing during the May holiday (April 17 – May 3rd)? At Museum Rembrandthuis, step into Rembrandt’s world with the whole family.
Join Rembrandt’s dog Kwast on an adventure through the museum with the multimedia tour and discover all the hidden corners of the house. A real highlight: in Rembrandt’s studio, you can see daily demonstrations of how he made his paints and etchings. From toxic lead and bright red insects to fragrant linseed oil and even pig bladders – you’ll discover the surprising materials behind his art.
The demonstrations run continuously between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM and are free with your museum ticket.
Extra fun during the holiday:
- Sunday April 26 and Saturday May 3: family days with extra hands-on activities
- Monday April 28: special family day with free entry for Amsterdam residents
You can also get creative yourself – mixing paint, drawing or trying out etching techniques inspired by Rembrandt.
A playful and inspiring outing for curious kids (approx. ages 4-6+) and their parents.
