During the week of 15–18 April, Roetersstraat will temporarily transform into a place for experimentation, encounters and new ideas.
Roetersstraat has been nominated as a “Just Street” – an initiative that explores how public space can be shared more fairly. Less focused on cars, and more space for greenery, meeting each other and spending time in the street.
Throughout the week, a variety of creative experiments and activities will take place. There will be something for everyone – young and old, residents and passers-by alike. Students, entrepreneurs and visitors will come together to discover new ways the street can be used. You can eat together, walk, sing and play, all presented in surprising ways.
📅 Highlight: Thursday 16 April
On this day, all experiments and activities come together and you can experience how a street can change from a busy traffic route into a place to spend time and connect.
The Week of the Just Street is a national initiative. In Roetersstraat it is organised in collaboration with, among others, the University of Amsterdam, the Municipality of Amsterdam, local residents and businesses.
Stop by and discover how the street could look and feel differently.
