The Aardbewoners Festival at ARTIS is all about Planetary Health: the idea that everything on Earth is connected. Plants, animals, microbes… and us. When nature is out of balance, we all feel it. You can think of it like a game of Jenga. The more blocks you remove, the more unstable the tower becomes – until it collapses. We are one of those blocks too. Without a healthy planet, there are no healthy people. During the festival, you’ll discover how these connections work and what you can do to keep the tower standing strong. And the best part: it can be surprisingly fun.
From May 14 to 17, ARTIS transforms into a place full of discovery and wonder. With workshops, stories and activities for all ages – all centered around our planet.
Go on a mission with the SpaceBuzz, make your own seed bomb for insects, learn how to garden with elephant dung or join a sea animal yoga session. A playful and inspiring way to see the Earth differently.
