Below are a few tips for celebrating Christmas in your own neighbourhood, whether you are organising a party, having a Christmas drink, or want to celebrate Christmas sustainably at home with your loved ones.
Party?
Are you organising a Christmas drink for your company or employer; organise something in the neighbourhood, then you don’t have to go far, you don’t have to worry about parking and that is sustainable. There are many nice cafés, restaurants and hotels in our neighbourhood, where you are very welcome for an atmospheric and cosy end to the year.
Go to a Museum or performance
Visiting a beautiful exhibition or theaterperformance before or after? Plenty of choice in the neighbourhood, check out our events list to see what’s on. Or go with your colleagues to one of the atmospheric evening openings in the gardens and parks in the neighbourhood. You can also walk, cycle or sail the route of the Amsterdam Light Festival. And did you know that ARTIS has special party packages for this time of year?
Christmas package or presents?
Look for presents in one of the museum shops in the neighbourhood; so many special presents for young and old, and often special assortments for the Christmas holidays. The theaters in the area sell nice gift vouchers for a nice show of your choice. Of course, you can always support a good cause; Doctors Without Borders always organizes a special donation campaign for Christmas; a nice gesture.
