Sting stars in The Last Ship at Carré

00:00:00event

Until 13 September, Koninklijk Theater Carré presents the world premiere of the renewed version of The Last Ship, Sting’s deeply personal musical. Following its success, the production has been extended with additional performances, exclusively at Carré.

The musical is set in Wallsend in North East England, where Sting grew up in the shadow of the shipyard. When the shipyard is threatened with closure, the close-knit community fights back. The Last Ship tells a human story about change and the place you come from.

Sting wrote the music and lyrics and appears on stage as Jackie White, the shipyard foreman. The music ranges from rousing choruses to intimate ballads. The original Broadway production received two Tony Award nominations.

The Last Ship is performed in English and is part of the Broadway at Carré series.
