When a tree has to be cut down because it is sick or too old, it is always a sad sight. How fun is the ‘City Wood’ art route!
Artists use local wood to create a temporary sculpture on a tree stump. The wood art route runs past a number of growing areas of trees that have been cut down and are waiting to be replanted. The route is in October 2024. The event provides a stage for talent, inspires and beautifies the city. The beautiful wood art route criss-crosses through the center, is approximately 8 km long and can be completed on foot, by bicycle or by boat.
The route will conclude on November 1 with an auction of the statues. The viewing day is on October 27 in Crea at Nieuwe Achtergracht 170.
