From 3 October, H’ART Museum presents the exhibition Chez Matisse – Masterpieces from Centre Pompidou.
Henri Matisse (1869–1954) was one of the great innovators of modern art, known for his bold use of colour and iconic cut-outs. Bringing together more than eighty works of art, the exhibition explores Matisse’s lifelong search for the perfect balance between simplicity, form and expression.
Alongside a wide selection of works by Matisse, the exhibition features works by his contemporaries and later artists, including Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
The exhibition was created in collaboration with Centre Pompidou, home to one of the world’s most important Matisse collections.
