What flies and flutters through the garden?
The Hortus is a green oasis in the heart of the city – also for many bird species. Grebes, greenfinches, great spotted woodpeckers, treecreepers and even goldcrests find their refuge here.
Would you like to spot these birds yourself? Biologist Mattie and his colleagues will take you on a bird excursion through the Hortus. You’ll learn how to recognise different species (also by their sounds) and discover where they can be found.
Binoculars and bird guides are included (but feel free to bring your own). For this special excursion, the garden opens early at 9:00, when it’s still nice and quiet.
The bird excursion is suitable for all ages.
