Trees are the quiet heroes of the city. They lower temperatures, filter the air, provide shade, and create homes for birds, insects, and small mammals.
That’s why, every year, thousands of young trees are given to Amsterdammers. Together, we’re growing an urban forest — making our city greener, cooler, and more resilient for the future!

One tree for you, a forest for the city

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, thousands of young trees will once again be handed out at three locations across the city:

📍 ARTIS Square – Plantage Middenlaan 4
📍 Stadsboerderij Osdorp – Botteskerksingel 30B
📍 De Ceuvel – Korte Papaverweg 2

Some of these trees come from the Birthday Forest planted during the Op de Ring Festival last June. Remember how hot it was? These little green heroes brought much-needed shade to the asphalt — and now they’re looking for a permanent home with you! 🌿
